Last night, before the general public got their shot at the AC/DC PWR/UP Tour Pop-Up, a lucky pack of invite-only fans got the first crack at Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas, and let's just say the whole building hummed like a live wire waiting to be grounded. This is the kind of preview that makes you understand why Angus Young has spent five decades in a schoolboy uniform sweating through arenas worldwide: some obsessions are simply worth the commitment.

The rockin’ space at 3771 Las Vegas Blvd South transforms into a shrine for the faithful, all historic tour props and memorabilia arranged like relics in a rock and roll reliquary. Stage-worn artifacts sit under glass the way a museum might display a Ming vase, except this one comes with a backstory involving Marshall stacks and dubious decisions made at 2 a.m. on tour buses. Then there's the merch. Limited-edition vinyl. City-specific gear you won't find anywhere else, which is the retail equivalent of a backstage pass for your closet. Fans wandered the floor last night trading knowing looks and the particular joy of people who understand that the bell tolls for everyone.

But the real stroke of genius sits at the bar. Our GoLive.vegas team understood the assignment and partook in the cocktail menu built around the current lineup, each drink calibrated to its namesake's personality. You could feel the room's energy shift the moment word got out. “Have a Drink on Me” indeed, Bon. The man wrote the drinking anthem; the least Vegas could do was build him a proper toast, right?

The general public gets their turn starting today, July 31st at 11 a.m., and the pop-up runs the full weekend through August 2nd. Photo opportunities, giveaways, and prize packs await anyone willing to queue up and pledge allegiance to the cannon.

And if the pop-up is the appetizer, tomorrow night is the main course: AC/DC lands at Allegiant Stadium to power up the whole city properly. Bring earplugs. Bring nostalgia. Bring whatever's left of your Thursday night stamina, because Vegas just got significantly louder, and there's no sign of the volume coming back down anytime soon.
